New Yorkers, how are you getting to Cornell?

Which bus service are you using?

Aug 17 is the day, correct? (Yeah.. I know.. just making sure.)

Thanks. :)

Shortline/Coach USA goes directly to the campus. I believe Greyhound and the other bus lines only stop at the Bus Terminal in Ithaca.
So my advice is to go Shortline. It has a stop on North Campus as well as 2 or 3 other stops on campus.
All the info is on the cornell site- visiting campus.

i'm from long island, and besides move in day when my parents drop me off, i plan on using the cornell campus-to-campus bus that stops in NYC, and then getting a train home.

if you're from long island swarthout (sp) goes directly to Roosevelt field but only runs during breaks

any one know the costs? can u book online?

you can book online; http://www.goswarthout.com/...it goes to Jersey, Queens and Long Island..I think a round trip is 75 and one way is 40.

Dude, you should drive up for move-in day. You're not gonna be able to fit all of your stuff on the bus.

Shortline leaves from the Port Authority Bus Terminal and it's 81 bucks roundtrip, 65 bucks during vacations/breaks. It does take you to North Campus, but the drivers sometimes don't know their way around campus. I've had to help the driver about 75% of the times that I've taken the bus.

Swarthout and Campus-to-Campus are a little too bourgeois for folks like me. :o

Swarthout is definitely not bourgeoise...the tickets are written on carbon copy paper.

Doesn't Shortline have stops/transfers? The Long Island Swarthout bus goes straight to the mall if you get on the express bus. It makes a stop on North, West and Ctown.

which bus is the one with internet? now that's bourgeois!!

that's the campus-to-campus one. It has wireless internet access, AC jacks, reclining deluxe leather chairs. It's great, somewhat worth your money, considering you pay $125 for round trip, I think?

I think it's actually $149 for one person and it's reduced to $125 if you buy tickets in a group of 4 or more.

How much is Swarthout? I think it's more convenient to take Shortline anyway since I can just take the A C E downtown one stop and just take the LIRR to my house and get picked up from my station instead of Roosevelt Field.

75 round trip and 40 one way.

I took a bus to the city once and it was a huge pain in the ass lugging my stuff through the subway station. It also ends up being more expensive than taking Swarthout after you account for the train ticket.

I live close to the city, so I actually get off at a Queens LIRR station. I can use a 5 dollar off peak ticket and a 3 dollar city ticket on the weekends when I usually go back, so 8 bucks is more than worth the convenience.

Swarthout makes a stop in Queens, though. Whatever works for you.

Would you happen to know where?

the website says "Flushing Fresh Meadows Cinema"
