I have relatives in RI, and yes they joke because none of their kids want to go to URI, I guess since the NE area has so many fine colleges. But many have gone there and done well. But like many other colleges, certain programs seem to be better rated and have been told that URI College of Pharm has a decent reputation and pass/ rate on their NAPLEX exams. But
is 19K out of state but less than 6K instate! I might be able to eventually work out something not this year but stay with a relative that lives very close by Kingston/Narragansett area. I don't know how they handle instate /outstate dependent /independent status, but my Dad said he would look into it.

All the local schools have pre-pharm, of those about three have the better
circulums that most Pharm schools adhere to, Ferris is a PharmD school and one that I am considering and got accepted to , just waiting to hear $, although again I wasn't thrilled with my visit there, but maybe I will spend more time and perhaps overnight class visit if $ come back good. Ive applied to thier honors program also. Again the only problem is I have been told by
many on the Pharm boards that your chances getting in PharmD progr5ams are possible but greatly reduced from prepharm only schools today versus ten years ago, I guess because in most states prior to 2002 you didn't have to go 6-years to be a RPh Registered pharmascist. You good go 4-years.
but thanks.

Northeatern is very expensive , but I will look into it because you never know
the real price when it's a college that has a high needs based fin aid program.
Yeah it doesn't seem at first that why stay here but their are many factors they have to consider I guess. Like no one is selling their house here, unless they reduce their price a lot, no one is paying for any relocation, and the jobs
he seems to have a chance at out of state are risky/volatile, have other siblings and family members to consider, and a legally blind grandma they help with besides the normal relatives, friends, school, church sports, home thing to contend with. He's almost 50, and this was just horrible timing and unfortunately we are not the only ones here with these kind of problems.
Again thanks for any suggestions you or any one else has.

No this snow bunny wasn't looking that far but I will consider anything that my costs are low, but at 17 I'm one of those don't want to be that far way from family, maybe later, and I know would be expensive to visit during breaks but will factor that in. I'm just kidding about the weather since I love snowand Michigan Christmas time but five straight months of grey, ice cold weather makes New Mexico's summer heat which is of course during school out sessions, very welcoming. Hot New mexico sounds cool!.

For those looking for a state school that is not really big, URI and UMaine Orono are good considerations. I know kids from here that did not like the atmosphere at our SUNYs and are going there and enjoy it.
