Newbie Needs Help: Rank These 6 Colleges

I need the following 6 colleges ranked in order of least selective to most selective based on the following criteria:
Assume I am applying ED
White male, not legacy or recruited athlete
Applying to Arts and Sciences (Economics)

I know simply looking at ED% can be misleading, as many of the ED acceptees are legacies and athletes, so I thought it would be better to ask CC pros for their opinions.

Colleges- Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Colgate, Colby, Northwestern, Bucknell

Thanks so much!

really helpful

Cornell and Northwestern and Johns Hopkins (I personally would go Northwestern, Cornell then JHU)
Colgate
Colby
Bucknell

for selectivity during ED...look at the collegeboard website and go to admissions and it will give you the ED stats for each college.

but keep in mind that ED is binding so pick the college you like best even if it is the most selective

1) Cornell, JHU, NU in any order
2) Colgate, Colby in either order
3) Bucknell but not very far behind Colgate and Colby

you shouldn't pick your ED school based on easiest to get in.

Northwestern is prolly the best bet for an economics major, prolly followed by Colgate and Bucknell.

Oh yea, ED. You should not apply ED anywhere if you also plan to apply for financial aid since you give up your ability to compare financial aid packages and you may also bind yourself to an outrageous tuition payment. At least see what your EFC will approximately be before you apply ED anywhere.
