I've been going through the forums for quite some time now but I can't seem to find a straight answer. I'm in a bit of a tough situation right now.

My first semester of college was at a community college where I took 5 classes and failed all of them due to a family crisis. I didn't know what to do so I started at a new community college and did not send them a transcript from my previous community college.

I'm finishing up my 3rd semester at the new community college with a 3.8 GPA. I've accumulated enough credits to transfer to the 4 year University of my choice. On the application, I am being asked to list all the schools I attended. Would they find out about my previous community college if I chose not to list it? Keep in mind; I did not apply for any financial aid at the first community college but I did use the FACTS payment plan. I'm just afraid that the bad semester would affect my admission. I'm also worried that if I chose not to list it they would find out and deny my admission, as well. I read about the clearinghouse but I wasn't sure if they only track students who have financial aid.

I worked hard to get my 3.8 GPA and get where I am now. It's safe to say, I'm stressing out a little bit. Any advice would be appreciated.
