<p>Hey guys, I'm a freshman at Syracuse University and singly enrolled in Newhouse this year.
I'm from California and I'm seriously enjoying it here so far. (: I have lots to say about my school but I don't have the time to write it out/answer questions, so sorry about that. (Tomorrow's the first day of classes!)</p>

<p>The dean of Newhouse gave us these statistics at Newhouse convocation, and like a nerd I wrote them down. I know when I was applying I was really curious about these statistics too, so I wanted to share them with CC. Here you go. Good luck to all. And if anyone wants to do more math (I hate math), please feel free to calculate admission rates and percentages and all that jazz. It would definitely help some anxious highschoolers out there. <p>371 enrolled out of 4600 applicants (not including transfers)
32 of 50 states represented
60% girls
30% guys (don't really get this, but that's what they said. Just know there's more girls than guys at Newhouse)
Average GPA: 3.9
28% Students of Color.</p>

<p>P.S. Sorry I don't have the transfer information, this was all by word of mouth. Maybe if you call or something they give more definite statistics.</p>

<p>Wow. That is…8%. Is it possible Newhouse is now more exclusive than even Medill??? I’ve definitely seen the stats online and noted it is now ranked #1…but I thought since Northwestern was generally harder to get into (no offense) that Newhouse would be easier…</p>
