Newhouse 'acceptees'....

<p>I was wondering if you could post your stats here to show the 'chances' students what some of class of '07 who got in scored so they have facts to go by since SI Newhouse is so difficult to receive acceptance.</p>

<p>I was actually kind of surprised because I had a rather low SAT score. I got in SI Newhouse (without wanting to be admitted to the other SYR schools) with Magazine Journalism major.</p>

<p>Stats:
SAT I: 620M 560CR 590W Essay: 10
SATII: 610MI 470Bio E (I was prepared for Molecular but the only one offered in Dec was Environmental....)
ACT: N/A
GPA: Unweighted is 96.77 (not sure what on 4.0 scale).</p>

<p>I had a lot of EC's and the essay was extremely personal, the counselor regarded it as a 'beautifully written work' and I had a lot of 'amazing' recommendations, or so my counselor said since I promised not to peek!</p>

<p>Not sure if I am going to go yet, I'm still waiting on other schools as well as financial aid awards. I'll be waiting to hear your stats, possible fellow classmates!</p>

<p>I got in for Public Commuications with a dual degree program with the College of Arts and Sciences in Math, and got 16k a year for that part.</p>

I got into the Magazine program, and also chose not to consider any other SYR schools.

<p>She is into graphic design, looking especially into layout and design of magazines or the like. She creates and publishes a school newsletter and also loves photography.</p>

<p>We are still waiting to find out if she is going to receive merit aid.</p>

<p>so i know 2 ppl that have gotten merit based scholarships to cuse but neither are in newhouse..one has almost the same EXACT numbers as me and one has slightly less..and i have yet to see nething..do newhouse kids not get as much or like are the requirements for scholarships higher in newhouse?</p>

<p>Yep... mine was a 1040 combined, but I got in anyway.</p>

<p>Mine was an 1150 just CR+M…the average of the 2011 class was in the 1300’s.</p>
