Newhouse class of 2022

Hey guys, thought I’d make this for everyone who applied to Newhouse. Im wondering if anyone heard back yet?

I haven’t heard anything yet

No but am now following your thread.

I haven’t heard anything either. Does anyone know if Newhouse has been included in the recent waves?

Heard back today, and was accepted into the Graphic Design program at Newhouse. And now comes the wait for financial aid/ merit packages…

Congrats, k! We’re also waiting on Graphic Design. Good essays, GPA, legacy. Terrible SAT.

I got accepted this morning to Newhouse undecided major!! 1350 sat (700 reading 650 math), 3.85 gpa, legacy, strong essays

My D has been accepted to Newhouse - but with no merit or FA so we are looking at full cost $72K for first year and I guess only up from there - total for 4 years could be close to $300K!!
Whilst we have some college savings - only enough for 1 year, this would mean significant debt and loans for us and our D. Question is - Is a Newhouse comms degree worth this significant debt?
She has other choices at lower cost than Syracuse e.g. Fordham, Loyal Maryland, UPitt

No. No school is worth $200,000 debt.

@stepl100 Did your daughter hear back from Syracuse today?

@resnick - Yes she did last Friday and she got in but with no $$ help so I think its another No as cannot afford the full cost - these college costs are crazy. Was hoping for some kind of scholarship.

my son received a scholarship and admission form today, but have not received admission letter…what does this mean?

I got accepted two weeks ago into a dual enrollment with Newhouse (PR) and Arts/sciences (poli sci). No merit, 3.5 uw and 33 superscore act

Still nothing from Newhouse. Transfer student with 4.0 GPA, four internships, strong essays and good recommendations. Tons of volunteer experience. Trying to be hopeful, but it’s getting late.

Has anyone heard recently? Do they send out acceptances on weekends or weekdays? What times? Is your financial aid in the email as well?

Looks like merit in Newhouse is very very competitive. Need very high credentials. More likely to get merit going into Arts and Sciences as communications major and then transferring to Newhouse later.

I got in last week for Broadcast Journalism with $10,000 in merit. Syracuse is definitely on my list now!
33 regular/ 34 superscore ACT and 3.8ish GPA plus way too many extracurriculars
