You may want to set up a campus visit and interview if possible. DD interviewed last summer and applied ED. She will be a freshman at Whitman & Newhouse. Level of applicant’s interest is listed as Very Important in Syracuse’s Common Data Set. Good luck to you.

Thanks so much! I will definitely consider it… The only thing is I do live in the Pacific Northwest Area so a trip to New York would be pretty expensive/complicated.

Syracuse does have admissions folks out west. You probably can either schedule an in person or phone interview. Below is the contact for West Coast admissions. Good luck to you.

You’re in the right ballpark to get accepted, but Newhouse is extremely competitive. Being from the Pacific NW is a plus. We’re from Oregon and I know SU won’t get very many from out here.

I would suggest you take action to make sure SU knows you’re interested in them. Make sure you’re on their radar.

Your SAT score is just below the threshold where universities start throwing scholarship money your way. From 2020 every extra 100 points increases the odds of more scholarship money at many schools. My suggestion would be to get your SAT scores up by taking it again (study of course). Take the ACT at least once if not twice also. Good luck.
