Newhouse stats

typically, what are the average stats of students accepted into Newhouse? (sat, act, gpa, courseload, communications experience, etc)

anyone???..

My DD is applying and interviewed with the assistant Dean. Average stats for last year:
4500 applications, 350 admitted
SAT: 1290 w/o writing, 2000 with
ACT: 29
GPA: 3.8 unweighted
They review holistically so consider transcript, recs, etc. Communication experience not necessary but somehow showing an interest through your activities.

More than 350 were admitted . The class yield was 350, so the stats aren’t that grim.

Traditionally , as mentioned earlier this year on CC, yield for Newhouse is approx. 33%. That would equate to approx 1250 students accepted. 1250/4500=about 28% acceptance rate.

This does not include dual enrollments with arts/sci, Whitman, etc

thanks!! I fall right in between those stats ahhh so nervous!

Hoping to get in dual whitman/newhouse…my daughter’s sat stats are 720 CR, 660 Writing and just 560 math. We are concerned about her math scores. Does Newhouse give better weight to CR and Wiring over math being it’s communications?

I’m going into Newhouse as a freshman this upcoming fall and my SAT stats were 680 CR, 530 Math, and 610 Writing. I think that your daughter is gonna be just fine

Thank you Syracuse19. Did you apply early decision or regular? Good luck!

I applied ED. I honestly feel like a lot of why I got in was because of my enthusiasm to attend the school and my essays reflected that.
