Those of you waiting to hear from the Newhouse School-they have started calling. Both my S and his friend received calls yesterday.

Just curious Ipart, what were your sons stats as to GPA ( unweighted and weighted) and SATs?

3.8--I don't know if that was weighted or not-2000-Sat's
he was accepted at Ithaca and Emerson and Rutgers.

I also received a call from Newhouse yesterday offering me admission.

are you going? If not -where did you decide?

I would have LOVED to go but unfortunately we dont have the money. I will be attending James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA this fall. I'm hoping to go to Syracuse for Grad school though.

Daughter was called and offered dual admission to Newhouse & CAS, which is what she originally applied for. Couldn't understand why she was waitlisted.
Her stats:
SAT 1410/1600 2050/2400
GPA 3.7 UW, no weighted grades, NYC specialized HS, all honors & AP, no offical rank, but top 10%
VP NHS, Captain Varisty Softball, Writer for satire magazine, assorted volunteer work.

She has commited to U of Miami and is VERY happy with her choice. Cuse would have to offer a boatload of money to even get her to consider it. After all..palm trees & sunshine vs cold & snow, not a hard choice. Escpecially after all this WL stuff.

yankeegirl49, i was in the same situation. 2140, top 8%, lots of ecs, etc etc. Just accepted to the dual CAS & Newhouse program...but i think it's too late to consider it.
