I got into the honors college, but I’m not sure if I got any kind of merit scholarships. Does the financial aid packet come in the same letter or separately?
My average at the moment hovers at around 83-84 weighted the last time I checked (i attend a specialized high school), 33 ACT, 2110 SAT superscore.
My son was admitted into UB a few weeks ago in a letter which detailed his merit scholarship award. In today’s mail, he received a letter informing him that he has been accepted into the Honors College. Did you receive an initial acceptance letter prior to the Honors notification?
OP i am on the same boat as you. Received honors college letter today but nohing about scholarships.
Merit scholarships are typically included as part of the UB acceptance letter.
From their web site:
To be considered for a merit scholarship, we recommend that you apply by Dec. 1 and submit all of the required supporting documents (test scores, transcripts and letters of recommendation) by Dec. 15. Scholarship notices are mailed, along with admission offers, beginning in early March.
Did you do that?
My S sent application & all supporting materials in mid Nov. Received merit award in same letter as acceptance, over a month ago. So YES, by December. Many, many schools have the same requirement ( 12/1 deadline) to be considered for merit, sometimes you have to really dig to find the info.
My son applied in November. He received his acceptance letter around Jan 21 with a scholarship.
As FYI, the financial aid awards are starting to come out. You will need to set up your UB student account and log in to view (if you were accepted you received a letter with the account startup information).
