Hailing from an Italian family, I was raised Catholic as a child. As in, I was baptised and went through the other motions like holy communion, confirmation, etc. But after all that, my experience with the Church kind of died out. My family and I attended mass, but only on very special occasions. This too kind of wore off as the years went on, and my sister and I grew older.

My ties with Catholicism are not very strong now, and being that I'm not especially religious, nor do I follow all the guidelines to be, I can only consider myself to be merely spiritual. However, I am interested in the Cal Newman Center. I kind of like the idea of going to Church every now and then, even if it's just for the experience, and to learn more about the religion my ancestors were so fond of. Who knows, maybe I will even decide that it is something that I want to re-adopt into my life. That said, does anyone know anything about the Newman Center? I checked the website, but I'm just interested in people's opinions of the place. I checked some of the events that went on last year, and it looks like there was some really interesting, not to mention alternative, seminars that took place. The Center seems to be really accepting of all people, Catholic or not, and I like that.

Any insight or opinions are appreciated.
