Does anyone party there, not necessarily in the dorms or rooms but if you live there will there be people who will be going out every weekend to either the bars or to the frats? Or do most people who live there not drink?

what are the rules about drinking at NH? is it considered substance free? are they any dorms at uiuc that are considered substance free?

my experience in newman is somewhat limited, but there are definitely people there who party. i dont really know the ratio of party people to non, though. it seems like it would attract a lot of straight-laced type kids too. i would guess that it is technically substance free.

i know that bromley is also substance free, as is IT. but there’s a difference between substance free by-the-book and a substance free culture. i have a friend that goes to a LAC in CA and he lives in a substance free dorm where students elect to live in order to be part of a sober community. there are very few of these kinds of dorms at uiuc; i cant name any off the top of my head.

Snyder is the substance free residence hall on campus where residents are subject to a zero tolerance policy against any drugs or alcohol (including even if you are over 21) in the dorm.
