<p>Newt Gingrich was an environmentalist, and unsuccessfully ran as such, until he realized it was easier to get elected and get funding from the other side of this issue.</p>

<p>I was actually surprised since he often scored 0's according to LCV (in years far back)</p>

<p>But now i realize LCV just advocates different approaches than him</p>
