when do u guys think will the next batch of decisions be in Jan?

I spoke to my regional rep before Christmas break and he said they will probably release the next batch of decisions around January 14th. I really hope so because I have been patiently (anxiously) waiting since October 19th, when my app was complete, for my decision.

This is untrue. My decision (accepted!) was posted today, January 6th.

wow, that's great chocolatluvr!!!!

When did you apply?

My app was complete on 11/11. You can see my stats on the accepted students post.

Accepted today.

Just a quick question: I checked my application status and I found something that said "Financial Aid Interest: Yes"

What does that mean exactly? I didn't request any FA, but is it possible that I missed something? Also, is my application incomplete until they receive any FA forms?

Help!

anybody who heard back today or this week, when were your apps. complete??

They claim 12/9 although I believe it was several weeks earlier.

Waiting is horrible, I don't want to wait >_> Mostly it's that whether or not I'm willing to trek halfway across the country to go to Michigan is contingent upon how much merit aid I get, and as I understate it, the chances of getting any are miniscule now. UMich > UMass, but I can go to UMass on full tuition...

I know this: I sent my application online on November 14th (maybe the 15th, I'm not exactly sure on this). "Application date" is marked as November 17th. All materials were received by December 1st. And sometime between Dec. 9th and Dec. 12th, my application status transcended from "Not Complete" to " " (blank).

It seems UMich is sending out a batch of acceptances today, meaning the next one would logically be next week, no? Or do they send multiple batches per week? I can't stand teh suspense >_<

My application has been complete since 10/19 so I have had to wait almost a month longer and I am still waiting. It is killing me, I really want to know if I am getting in or not, it would take a lot of stress off me since I will not find out from my other schools until April.

Is it true that if you're undoubtedly qualified, then they make a decision on your admissions very quickly? I understand PSU and some other schools (at least in this area, including UPitt) make can give you a decision within 2 weeks. Does UMich do something as similar or do they generally take the same amount of time for each applicant?

It seems to me from looking at the stats of those who have been accepted, that they accept really excellent top candidates quickly. Those who are more of a match (I'd include DS in that) have to wait longer. DS app was complete on Dec. 1 BTW

i've been waiting since 10/21, thats when my app was complete. i'm freakin going crazy!! i know people that applied a little later than me and have already heard back. this is making me question the whole rolling admissions thing. i really hope they send another batch of decision next week.

As previous posters have said, those other applicants were obviously more of a clear choice for admission. That's just something you have to live with. It's better that they choose carefully to make an optimal class than just accept or reject someone on first inclinations.

I checked my application status and I found something that said "Financial Aid Interest: Yes"

I have been going through other posts in the Umich foum and it seems like a common problem...other ppl also have the same thing in their app status....
