"Next Generation" of College Confidential Here Already? (FALL 2010 Transfers)

i like…want to make friends on here and stuff…like for school…but none of us know where were going =/ lol

^
@ Erikuh, No kidding! My friend introduced me to some council member in San Diego by saying “This is Evan, He’s going to go to Berkeley…”

I’m like… “um…”

Eventually, I want to be a talent agent. Most likely a literary agent, but I can see myself representing actors/sports figures. I’m so excited because I just got an internship last week with one of the most connected people in the industry, with tons of connections at CAA, WMA, and Endeavor (all top talent agencies). So far, he loves me, so we’ll see!

Yaaay for Martin.

njoy, don’t you go to SMC?
what classes are you taking next semester? we might share one.

erikuh,

no i dont go to smc lol but i am taking an online class at smc in the fall (sociology 4, because its a pre-req and only 5 colleges in california offer it booo lol), i live in oceanside which is basically in san diego =/ lol, but HOPEFULLY if we both go to ucla, we can become great buds one day hahaha. join samahang modern wooo lol

ugh it sucks talking like were already in lol.

and yes, yay for martin : ) congrats

Haha for sure I’m joining Samahang!
I know like 3 people in it right now.

I also know the cultural coordinator for next year and I’m trying to do collaborations between SMC’s KP and UCLA SM for cultural events next school year.

This is going to further deepen my relationship with UCLA and its student population making the future acceptance/rejection carry even more weight haha -___-

sounds fun:) but youre totallly right…
it seeems like were getting wayyyy deeeep into all of this! lol but its ok…all worth it!

to be honest…i just think about going to ucla a lot…i try not to let too many people know. so to keep me sane, i come on here and talk about it lol

All good things come to an end.

TAP admit rates won’t be 90%+ forever.
More majors will be added to that excluded list in the next 2-3 years.

njoy, do you dance? I’m thinking of joining NSU Modern this year but only kaz I know a few people in it. Apparently you don’t hafta be a UCLA student. Yeayuhs.

^ that’s true about a lot of programs at UCLA.
I read on here someone playing rugby with UCLA but not being a student.
I also know someone who just got into psych at UCLA who was involved with their KCM (Korean Christian …something).

EDIT: http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/12626_5.Info_TransAdm.pdf</a>
Acceptance rate by major for Bizzerkley.
EVAN! Anthro = 21%ish+ (It was clumped with econ, psych, sociology, and history which would bring down the acceptance rate altogether). My guess would be 40% give or take 5%.

yes i dance lol but sadly i live wayy too far from ucla to join anything early =/ and this fall will be a 27-30 unit semester for me; so there will be no dancing, sleeping, or socializing lol. join samahang modern! i was leaning more towards samahang than nsu. any other clubs/organizations that anyones interested in? idk how involved ill wanna get into other things because i have a couple of friends at ucla who have had academic breakdowns, obviously because theyre fighting with the curve and really have to do some major studying. also, does anyone know how exactly to graduate in 2 years, not 2.4 (like most transfers do). id want to take 3 classes my first quarter, so i can get the hang of things, but will that leave me behind?

erikuh, 21% for me toooo!! go bears lol

27 units.
w t f.
are you a 1 year transfer?

Taking 3 classes the first quarter is advisable. Then they said take 4 when needed especially if you want to graduate in 2 years.
I only want to take 4 if I get some kind of easy-ish filler class but otherwise I’ll probably do UCLA summer session since I’m in the area. I’m thinking of taking a class next summer (assuming I get in/go there) just to get a taste of the curve, atmosphere, and grading system. I don’t want to get too much of a shock in the fall when it gets ridic hard haha.

omg njoy!~ youre crazy!!! ):
the most i have taken is 21 but that was the cap at my ccc…
27?!?!?! >__<;;;

sadly,
i am not a 1 year transfer :frowning: lol just a stupid girl who was convinced she wanted to be a bio major lol andi had a bad first semester, so im just trying to bring up my gpa. and to be honest…im taking like 3 classes that will probably be easy lol

smc people: have you ever heard of Gheytanchi?

^
at least youre good with it! hahahaa. (: we’ll all be rooting for you!

lol thanks! yeah i have like my schedule all made up already…planning when im gonna sleep and when ill study for which classes  itll be a journey lol but really, its just 4 months of sacrifice and thats it :)

Yunie, you’re from Temecula?
I totally go there a lot because my parents visit Pechanga so much.
It’s boring for the most part. How do you liveeeee.

I wish we had a cap like 21. Our cap is 16 at SMC.
My counselor was like -____- at my schedule and told me I didn’t need 5 classes.
I told her I didn’t like gaps in my schedule and I wanted 8 AM classes so I could get to school early for parking. And she was still iffy! for 5 classes!

njoy - I changed majors from Biological Sciences -> Economics -> Molecular Toxicology/Chemistry minor -> later added a Government and Politics minor -> Anthropology -> maybe later add a Public Health minor. :)

whoooa erikuh lol are you a class of 08` grad? i think ive probably asked this before but i forget easily lol.

my mom and aunts hit up pechanga all the time lol

Yeah, I am. I didn’t take classes for the bio/econ/gov and politics though, but I did have them down as my major.

The chem and bio I took for toxicology from my private school ended up transferring so I didn’t have to take science at CC. Only one class didn’t transfer (History of New York) so I didn’t get set back too badly.

Pechanga is 21+ though. Lame.
