@ Rwasko- Take anything that Joe Nalven teaches. Open book, really easy.

Also, Terrie Relf was my english teacher, so any class with her is great! she doesn’t show up half the time, though. :/

Hi everyone!!

I’m planning to apply this fall as well…

My GPA is 3.78 with extra curricular activities…
I’m gonna apply to
Berk
LA
San Diego
Davis

GOOD LUCK GUYS!!

Hello Gateway! What’s your Major?

Just found out I got into Club Cal. Exciting stuff!

man no colleges in sd are offering winter session because of the budget cuts. i feel like some of us are gonna get screwed overrr but this come aprillllllllll LOL

I wanted to ask everyone opinion. Do you think a .1 in my gpa will really help. Because I’m taking 17units this fall and if I get all A’s which I believe I will my final gpa 3.81 now to move it any higher I would need to take 6units or 2 classes just to move it to 3.82. Worth it?

3 of my friends say No and 1 is just saying I may regret it come April.

it depends are where youre trying to go lol whats your major dude?

Biz-Econ-UCLA , Econ-CAL and a few other UC’s. I’m done with TAP already. I already know I’m below the average admit but will .1 will hurt me that badly. I’m at a CCC and a Cali resident too.

yikes biz econ. well idk you have tap…so maybe that will help you out a lot. next semester im taking 27 units…i posted something on this board asking if 27 units would be demanding, but a whole bunch of people replied and said that itd be ok and that theyve done it before.

i think if you took some real easy classes for those 6 units youd be happy. im taking an extra 6 in winter for a .2 boost. maybe you should do winter session?

Not .1, it would be .01.
.1 would make a huge difference, but .01? I don’t think so. Plus, you’ve already finished TAP and that gives you a big advantage, even if the average is a bit higher.

If you know that you will get all A’s or if that one class you’re thinking of dropping is an easy A, I’d say just stick to taking all the classes and raise your GPA. If you’re doubting the A, it’s better to be safe than sorry, right?

Thanks Njoy and edelynly. Yeah it’s .01 increase by taking 2 classes. I already know a few easy A class I can add but most of them are at night. But that would bring me 23units which I can try and add the first day my counselor gave me the paperwork to add them. I’m not doubting I can get A’s as the only class I’m worried about next semester is Calculus which is if I get a B then I will only have a 3.74 ouch and I don’t think 23units would be that bad. My last spring semester I had 20units and 10units were honors classes. I guess all have to think about it uh.

Thanks for your opinions though.

Does anyone know what to do when assist.org doesn’t list any pre-requisites for a major and the major website doesn’t clarify anything either?

I’m fulfilling pre-requisites for both the Political Science and History major at the moment. I’m declared Political Science but I plan to try to double when I transfer. Recently I’ve been thinking of maybe going into Middle Eastern and North African Studies if I get accepted to UCLA. However, I have no idea how I would go about preparing for this major. Do I keep taking the classes I planned? Do I try to look for classes that seem relevant at other community colleges? I took Gov’t & Politics of the Middle East and The United States & Terrorism last semester which both seem to be the most related classes my current school has. I’m kind of at a loss here.

My Major is Poli Sci
planning to apply at UCB/UCLA this fall 10
If I have time, I’m gonna apply to cornell too

Nevermind about my question, I was looking at the wrong pdf. ANYWAY,

How’s everyone’s summer session? My economics teacher loves Macaws and my history teacher sounds like a combination of Morgan Freeman and Leonard Nimoy. It’s the most calming voice ever.

My Astron professor is a graduate student that likes to mumble a lot and sounds like he doesn’t know what hes talking about. My Philos professor gives too much homework and my class is filled with durdurdurdudururududururetards. I just finished watching A beautiful mind for the first time in 6 or 7 years, good movie.

We watched A Beautiful Mind in my AP Econ class after we finished Nash Equilibrium. Very, very good movie.

I want to transfer to princeton now just to meet John Nash lol

Summer school- where to start?

Long story short, I cannot get all A’s in 11 units in an 8 week period, so I dropped my astronomy class ![]()
My first (and last!) “W.”

I’m still kind of bummed about it, but it def. was for the best.

Oh that sucks theregoesevan

I have 11unints too this summer for a 6 week session. I found the trick to it is to take online classes. So I have one late start 4 week class, regular 6 week class, online class and gym class.

Wow, I couldn’t imagine taking that many units over an eight week period. I’m taking 6 units, Astronomy and Introduction to Computer Information Science. I have a fat midterm in my Computer class tonight.
