Next math course?

I'm a freshman currently taking Physics, Honors World Literature, Honors World History I, Algebra 2, Leadership and Spanish 2. Next year I plan on skipping Math Analysis and going on to either Calculus or AP Calculus AB. I will probably self-study over the summer and take a test to skip Math Analysis. I'm going to be doubling up on my science courses so I don't know whether I should take an easier math course and harder science courses or the opposite.

Go as far as you can. After calc there’s always linear algebra and multivariable calc at your local cc to keep you busy.

at my school analysis is honors and hard as ****
after analysis u take bc calc

so bascially, our hs has math analysis, calc, ap calc ab, ap calc bc, then ap statistics. i was wondering if math analysis is vital to excel in calc (any kind, esp. ap) or if its pretty uneventful and repetitive.

Analysis is trig and “precalc” which is basically algebra 2 but slightly more in depth (at least at my school). You could skip analysis but if you do then you’ll need to self study trig. And don’t bother with calc or calc ab, just go to BC.

Whether it’s useful or not, your high school will probably make you test out of it so you’ll have to learn the material anyway. Plus, if you plan on taking the Math II subject test, you’ll need pre-calc topics. I’m not sure if you’ll need them in higher math though - I took intergrated math until Calc.

BC Calc is a **… its not hard if you keep up with the work but we have a * load of work.

i know i will have to self-study the topics anyways and that doesn’t daunt me, but its just that so far all my math classes have been unchallenging and i want to do something that doesn’t feel like an easy A and stands out to college officials.

I’m all for testing out! Sorry if it made it seem like I meant otherwise - I’m in Linear Algebra as a junior.

You could take an Art of Problem Solving math class online if you’re after a challenge? They’re supposed to go quickly and deeply into topics and they offer classes over the summer too.
