How the hell do you study for this test?

forget about it lol.
i’m more concerned with bc calc though… -.-

Write…essays? Ewwwww

I guess basically brush up on your literary terms. There isnt much else to do. I’m going to try and sit next to the girl who got 56/60 on our practice MC and uhhh catch her vibes.

The vibes sounds like an STD.

There are few things in life more thrilling than brushing up on John Donne.

Seriously though, just thoroughly go over 3-4 books that you read this year so that you have them in your arsenal for the essays.

John Donne made me afraid of fleas.

easy… just read the princeton review AP prep book… you need to be at least familiar with major literary movements…also be sure to go over a few books you read (aka read sparknotes) so that youre prepared for the essays

but the calc exam on wednesday is gonna be a killer… i just know it =[

What books are you guys focusing on? I’m thinking King Lear/Slaughterhouse Five/The Kite Runner.

I’m thinking Crime and Punishment/As I Lay Dying/Tracks/Hamlet.

Do you think Lord of the Flies/David Copperfield/1984/Hamlet is a good quartet?

I bought the Barron’s book and I’ve been doing practice tests. I think that’s pretty much the only way to study. I’m mostly concerned with the poetry and prose essays.
I think Hamlet, Frankenstein, Brave New World and The Kite Runner are my broadest, most understood choices for question 3. The Scarlet Letter isn’t half bad either.

Ugh, I just realized there is no reason for me to take this exam.

My college already waived me from the 101 English because of my SAT score and won’t do anything with the credits from the AP. But my teacher is giving a 4 day final if we don’t take the test so I guess I have no choice

Hamlet/Catch-22/Crime and Punishment/Death of a Salesman/Crucible/The Stranger

Oedipus Rex/As I Lay Dying/Far from the Madding Crowd/Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (not too sure about the last one…too contemporary, maybe?)

How is The Scarlet Letter/Death of a Salesman/Frankenstein/The Great Gatsby?

Ah this is my first AP (of this year of course), but certainly not my last…

Sons & Lovers / Crime & Punishment / Hamlet / …maybe Frankenstein or Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde if worst comes to worst.

Hamlet / Brave New World / Beowulf

maybe… but its almost guranteed that hamlet will work for the third essay so i’m focusing on that (aka reading sparknotes the day before)

same haha 10char

Is it true that even if the free response has a list of books you can choose from, you can still choose a “separate book of similar literary merit”? If the Oresteia was not on the list of books, can I still choose it?

I rather liked 1984 and Crime and Punishment

^Yes, you are not limited to the provided list. The list just gives you an idea of what novels/plays fit the prompt well.
