Next, which is more prestigious?

Please rank the schools in order of prestige. Do not think about the majors, the environment, or anything except your first thought on which is more well known as a school and more respected. Don't just go straight to USNEWS rankings.

I can't agree. Someone from Cali is less likely to think UCLA is a great school, because they live in CA. Everyone in CA applies there, you know people who went there who were dumb, etc. A lot of people in CA assume that UCs are easy to get into, so they apply with their 1.3 GPA and 1100 SATs (new).

I know people who think that as long as you live in CA, Cal is so easy to get into.

UCLA
Georgetown
Virginia
Carnegie Mellon
Chicago
Vanderbilt

Most seem to think Georgetown and Chicago are the top two and Vanderbilt is at the bottom.

UChicago >> The others

Among the others, UCLA > Carnegie Mellon = UVA > Vanderbilt > Georgetown.
