Next Year Housing

I just got a nice single in the brand new Keeton building. :) Pretty excited. It'll definitely be an upgrade over this year.

ditto

:)

I'm hoping to get one of those too, but I'm only a freshman with a 7:40am time slot : (

Myarmin: I'm sure you'll have much better options. The choices were pretty limited for juniors. I had the earliest time slot and they didn't even offer anything in Bethe house, so I'm sure they're reserving them for you guys. Even in Keeton, I think I only saw about 50 or fewer singles, a lot of them in suites.

oh wow, keeton will be really nice, i heard they are building another residence hall after keeton to be finished in the summer of 2009, if i find where they said it on the cornell website ill post it

congrats, i wonder who the new hall will be named after, I hope Carl Sagan, since they all seem to be named after dead professors

im in boldt -.-. language house

My 6:20 am friends had trouble and barely got Becker. At 7:40 we couldn't find any continuous rooms for our block, so we had to settle on two doubles in a goth. I'm really disappointed, since getting a single was very important to me. And the people who go later today and tomorrow must be really screwed. And what is up with people half-occupying doubles? That just isn't fair for groups that legitimately want doubles.

i'm in the same boat as you: 7 am block time, but ended up in Sheldon Court...College Town!!! I was so upset. also its a pain that some people are half-occupying doubles, but groups of three or more have to select at least one double.

hey--does anyone know anything about Edgemoor? I decided (with a couple of friends) to live there, due to the doubles that are two separate rooms.

when you pick your housing do you sign the contract? how often do students drop out AFTER choosing the housing...my d's block fell apart with friends who planned t live together having to take the other half of a double with someone they did not know...

so...how ofter do people drop out of housing AFTER picking a spot??

If I dorm at Cornell next year (I am a high school senior), I want a single. Is this possible?

all freshmen are housed on North Campus together - there are actually quite a few singles - if you are female to guarantee a single pick Balch - otherwise indicate you want a single and you are likely to get it -

Add another to Sheldon Court. Does anyone know anything about the place?

memphismom....when you pick your room I do believe you also sign the contract...which is binding unless you've got a really, really good excuse. But I'm not sure because I never went through the housing lottery. If you and your d really are concerned....definitely give the housing office a call.

memphismom, same question here. I have nothing against my random roommate, but I was hoping for a single. I guess it won't be that bad being in a double, but if I could I think I'd still ditch the double and go for a single.

quick, latino living center or holland international center, better facilities/atmosphere/convenience.ect?

actually d is ok wiht random roommate after the end of long stressful time - funny how things seem to work out...

seuferk- what do you mean that the doubles in edgemoor are two separate rooms? does each double have a common area and then two separate bedrooms or something?

Why are singles so popular? Doubles are much more fun!
