Next year's schedule

Alright, I’m here because I need help organizing my thoughts on my schedule next year, and also want to hear some third party opinions. (I will be a Senior)

I got an email from my counsoler yesterday about my schedule next year. Primary reason was because AP Statistics was at the same time as Leadership 2, a class I needed to take because I am Senior Class President. So I told her to scrap Stats, and she replied with this schedule:

1A Research and Development (REQUIRED)
2A/3A Newspaper
4A AP Biology
5A AP English 2

1B Leadership 2 (REQUIRED)
2B/3B AP Physics
4B AP Computer Science
5B AP Gov/Advanced Econ

So now I’m left without a real math course. I looked around to my local CC and found that I can take Stats there on a saturday morning from 8am-12am.

The reason I ask is because I’m wondering how not having a math class senior year would affect the “look” of the transcript. Because of a bad middle school program, and non-english speaking parents, I was “forced” to take two match classes freshman year to get ahead. So that means I already have 4 math credits. Will top colleges count it against me if I don’t take one next year? Or should I go for this? Or is it just not worth it? I plan to play soccer, tennis, run school MUN, lead church YG, study SAT, etc so I’m not sure if it is worth the time drain :open_mouth:

Another question is just something on my mind after I found out about it. After being under the impression that 3 years of Spanish could get me into any college, I stopped taking the language after my 3rd year (was the subject I spent longest on to study for / homework because I suck at it). But after doing my own research on elite colleges, I have found that places like Princeton “recommend” 4 years. Now if you look at that schedule, I no longer have any room for it, nor do I feel like it after a 1 year break. But I am Korean, and I am also going back next year to Korea to attend College classes to learn the language more thoroughly… but of course, how are they goign to know this without me taking an SAT II… (My SAT dates are PACKED so no way) So do you think it is worth it for me to apply to places Princeton or are those credit thingys seriously only recommendations?

With five AP's, nobody is going to think that you are taking it easy. If you have already taken AP Calculus, you can probably not take a math course senior year since you are taking two science courses. You would be better off with four years of a FL, but you can't do anything without dropping an AP and you don't sound like you want to take it anyway. So don't worry about it. There seems to be enough to make up for it. If you want to explain why, it would be best for your GC to say something.
