So im gonna be a senior next year, and this is what im taking...
AP English 12, AP Government, AP Human Geography, AP Chemistry, and H Pre-Calculas. i think the only class that will be difficult is chemistry because it will be my first time taking a chemistry class. Any suggestions on what to do or prepare for it??? anyone else taken ap chemistry, is it hard???

i have taken it the past year
i think its definitely important to take a regular or honors before, but since you are going to be a senior there is no time.
i myself thought the information was easy, but when the ap exam came it was all foreign, but i took the make up exam.

as long as you put in the hours to understand every concept and the math that goes along with it you should be fine and your course load isnt to much that you wont have the time

It was probably the hardest AP class I took but it is a good one to take. I took Pre-ap Chem before but the only time you need it will be for basic stuff. A lot of the topics covered in AP chemistry are NOT basic at all and are levels above Pre-ap Chemistry.

I don't think I passed the AP exam but the best advice I could give you (that I wish I would have done) is memorize everything. I would just learn it for tests and then forget it. Memorize ALL equations, every rule and exception that goes with that equation, and any important information your teacher tells you. You will need every single bit of it on the AP exam-and I mean it. The exam was very, very difficult and covered a lot of topics-some I had never even seen before. Get a study guide to help you out when it's time to review for the exam.

I personally wouldn't recommend AP Chem until you have taken some pre-req class. I took a year of Pre-AP, where basic concepts like polyatomic ion charges etc. were taught, which are extremely important to memorize.

Since it's your senior year, and you aren't offered that choice, pick up an AP study book and start on it NOW. I honestly don't see how all of that info for AP Chem can be taught in one year. It's a great class, and you learn some very interesting stuff, but you'll just have to keep up with your reading if you haven't had some preparation.
