NFAA Young Arts program

YAY. My D just got a call and is a vocal finalist. Anybody else going to Miami?

Congratulations!

Congratulations. That’s a great honor.

what an honor! and how nice to know the day after they finish judging! you should be so proud! congrats!!

Congratulations!

Wow! That’s great! What voice part does she sing, BTW?

She is a soprano.

Bravo .

Great News! Makes this Thanksgiving REALLY special!

First Congratulations to your daughter!

We have not heard anything as of yet…my D sent in DVD for Musical Theatre and Dance…wish I knew if everyone has been called.

I can tell you the deadline for letting them know you are coming to Miami is Nov 30, so if I had to hazard a guess, I would say the calls have been made. From what I have read, they also let you know about merit which means you don’t go to Miami but you do get some financial reward. And that is at a later date.

I learned about this program on CC and wouldn’t have known about it otherwise. So once again, CC comes thru!

Congrats POTO Mom’s D. Wonderful achievement.

For others, even if you do not go to Miami or win any scholarship, just participating is noticed by the schools when you audition. It shows a level of seriousness to just get through the submission. Congratulation to those who tried and did not make it, too. You are ready for the audition season now. The school auditions do not necessarily look for the same things so it is not the single indicator of success. DD did not make it but had many acceptances and nice merit awards.

Congratulations!!! NFAA was one of those things we did NOT know about when DS was in high school. What a terrific thing to do…and to be selected to go to Miami…just GREAT.

Wonderful news…my DD says to tell yours congrats…we just retrieved her from the airport a couple of hours ago

My D sent a DVD, and we haven’t heard, so I guess she didn’t make the cut. But how do the conservatories to which she applied know she participated in NFAA? Was I supposed to put that on her applications??

I was actually wondering about that question. I was going to call Eastman admissions to ask another question today so I might slip that one in also.

DD put it on her music resume, along with performances and other competitions, etc. I think she might have listed it in other activities, too. DD’s voice teacher told her just participating was important enough to note when she submitted her applications even though results were not known yet.

Thanks POTO Mom, let me know what you hear!

My DD also listed it on her music resume under competitions
