NFL Draft

D'Brickashaw is much like Matt Leinart in the fact that he would have been a higher pick if he would have come out last year. Ferguson has the tools, but he is no Jon Ogden, Tony Boselli, or Orlando Pace. He is along the line of recent top tackle picks Jordan Gross, Robert Gallery, and Jammal Brown. He lost a little bit of luster by coming back his senior year.

The Pats had two decent first and second round picks in Maroney and Jackson, but I did not agree at all with their later picks. I really felt they should have taken Elvis Dumervil when they had the chance, I mean the man led the nation in sacks and gets no props whatsoever. People always say he is 5'11, way too short, but so what? The man can play- I don't see Mario Williams racking up 20 sacks a season.

And plus, with the huge deal about OLB/DE tweeners he definitely culd have been a great rush OLB for the Pats.

Instead, we get a TE when we already have two very good ones in Ben Watson and Daniel Graham, and a fullback. The linebacking corp got absolutely no help at all, especially with McGinest gone and Bruschi's health condition.

I also agree that Reggie will not be as good as everyone makes him out to be. He played on the best team in the country, with arguably the best line blocking for him. And most of his highlights are in the open field, where he makes all those dazzling moves. But you're going to be lucky as hell to see open field maybe once or twice in an NFL game. Most of your yards come by hard, tough, grinding it out pounding. And Bush almost never got hit behind the line of scrimmage in college. I wonder how he is going to react the first time a 320lb DT buries him for a 5 yard loss in the backfield.

I would have liked it if the Gostkowski pick was Parys Haralson. And Dee Webb was on the board for so long...

The Pats really need secondary help.
