NHS Applicants get decisions EARLIER than everyone else?? Is this true? And why? When do they send it out? I applied to NHS.

so did i. I didnt know that.

yeah, i guess it was my post you got that from.

NHS gets about 500 apps per year, so they can decide more quickly, and they send the letters as soon as they're done.

I got mine on March 11, 2004 and i'm a freshman now in nhs.

i don't want to freak anyone out, but expect your letters this week or next.

wow. thats scary. Does everyone who applied to NHS get theirs earlier??

can anyone else confirm this.. now i'm nervous! lol.. if anyone does get their admissions letter can they pm me just so i'm expecting it. this year could be different than last year.

I can confirm that, I remember because I got in EA, and I was waiting anxiously to find out about some other friends who had applied...and the one kid that applied to NHS found out a good one or two weeks before everyone else.

okay so i picked up the mail this morning and received a waitlist letter. i was thrilled to not have been rejected (because thats what i thought would happen), but im wondering how many are accepted, how many are waitlisted and how many are rejected. the letter said there were 500+ applicants for a class of about 100.

im visiting the college for the first time soon-- im excited!

good luck everyone :-)

I got rejected.....:(

Sorry to hear that, Bklyn2Cornell. If GU is still the school you want after a year or so, you could always transfer. I'm sure wherever you go, the school will be a terrific environment for you. :)

I already got into Univ of Virginia, Univ of Rochester, NYU. Im waiting for Brandeis, Tufts, Cornell (deferred ED). Also JHU, GWU, and BU Honors.

ahh! is everyone finding out?? i haven't gotten my letter yet.. where are you guys from. i'm from ny so maybe it takes longer to come

we're both from ny... upstate and brooklyn. maybe youve been accepted?! my waitlist letter came in a small envelope. before i opened it i figured i wasnt rejected because there was a visible yellow postcard for response in it.

did you two both apply to NHS?

yes we did

you found out from nyu already??
i thought that was april 1st?!

yes, i got an invitation to an event for "outstanding entering students" from NYU yesterday. I never got an acceptance letter, but my counselor called and they said they sent them only to a select group of ACCEPTED students who will get their acceptances on April 1 like everyone else.

Ah. Yes. I forgot, NYU sends likely postcards/letters.

i havent gotten my letter yet and im getting worried

oh crud--then im not getting into nyu
oh well it's far too expensive anyways- their financial aid is just horrible

congrats bklyn

would you guys please do me the honor of posting your NHS stats? like i realllly want to go there-both rejected, deferred and accepted? thanksss
