Im the cor sec this year for my nhs and I find it pretty funny how the administration treats the nhs board as the best students ever. We get many special privedges one of them being the first to walk at graduation...I was just wondering if this was the same in other school too.

lol, wow, that is strange, I guess your NHS club is very selective. Ours is graduating about 65 kids and the only thing we get is this NHS collar we wear for graduation

We Don't Even Have One!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, we don't practice this policy at our school since almost everyone can get into our chapter of NHS... your school's chapter must be pretty selective then... =/

its not the fact that my nhs is selective..believe me its not..its only the OFFICERS that get to walk first at graduation and etc...but it is still weird how the OFFICERS are well respected

our nhs just like most other nhs's is not selective and crap

all the other nhs members get a collar like the other schools so

NHS officers get to walk first? Ridiculous. What makes the NHS officers better than the other honor society officers? Elitist. We wore cords according to each honor society we belonged to, nothing more.
We also walked in order of matriculation (small private school- some kids started at our lower school and been together all of their lives... yikes.)

one word...elitists

im not gonna lie...you guys are right..it is elitist...but hey im not complaining lol

well our school... the only thing that NHS gets is a one time buffet lunch and there's no recognition at all in graduation or any other time

"one word...elitists"

thats two words

elitists is one word...

Lol...are you feeling okay Pyroclasm...?

We don't get to walk first, but we do get special "stoles" for graduation. In order words, we get to wear some gold fabric when we get our diplomas. How utterly fantastic! (sarcasm.)

no im pretty sure its two

I wouldn't say ours is very selective. From what I remember, members get senior privileges and have a special section to sit in for awards night (don't know about graduation).

I myself don't really want to do it even though I've been invited to apply multiple times. I would rather do community service for the pure fact of doing it rather than to fulfill NHS service requirements.

ours is very selective, we get some special privilages, but for the graduation walk its done in alphebetical order.

i don't think ANYONE should get special privileges at graduation. not even the sal and val, but sometimes you can't help that. I mean, everyone's graduating, and one person's "graduation" isn't more important than another person's

We get honor cords. Which we have to pay for.
