NHSI Film Production/Screenwriting Chances

I recently applied ED to Northwestern’s summer film camp. I applied to two focuses. I have made short films before and I do film photography. I have attended other programs outside of school but my high school does not have a film program. My recommendations were from a teacher at my high school and a teacher from SAIC. I have had some experience working on stage crew for theatre which is not what I am applying for but I thought it might help since of the collaboration involved in it. I have strong standardized testing scores in English but not as much in math.I believe I am in at least the top 30% of my class but am not sure since we do not have class ranks but I am in all honors and AP. I put a lot of work into my application but I am still a bit afraid I will not be accepted so I was wondering if anyone who has attended before could tell me my chances of acceptance? thanks!

Sorry no one has responded. I don’t know your chances with NW but my D has applied as well. I’m curious too if she will be accepted. Wish we were finding out a little sooner so we could decide between a few programs with upcoming deposits. Good luck and keep us posted!

I was rejected from both programs but since I am a sophomore I plan to apply again next year. Good luck to your D!

@grafil1 --Well rats. Unfortunately we missed the ED deadline so we have to wait until April 16th to find out. Hedging out bets with a registration pending at another program. Have you looked at UNCSA? They also offer a 5 week film program but its not as competitive to get in. From what I understand your experience level just determines which group you are placed it–so more experienced filmmakers will be placed together. Also a little cheaper than NHSI but have heard great things about the program.
