night/general life?

I visited FSU once, and barely had a chance to visit the area surrounding the campus. I was curious what's around besides the state capitol?
I'm really into the art scene, coffee and clubbing...not so much sports bars. Any recomendations/suggestions?

on the first friday of every month, there’s this event called “first friday” at the railroad square art park. there are all these little shops and vendors which open their doors and set out cheese and crackers and little snacks, and hang christmas lights around and basically open their door during hours they wouldn’t normally be open. there are also bonfires around the area and little music groups which set up…there are art galleries and interactive art displays…it’s a really fun evening that everyone should experience sometime during their years at fsu!

right down the street is the all saints cafe, which has pretty good coffee, and is open 24 hours…it has the indie vibe also (in a good way). i’m not sure where there are other cool little coffee houses like that, since i didn’t have a car this year.

as for clubbing, of course there’s the strip, with an assortment of clubs (chubby’s, big daddies, floyds, bullwinkles), along with potbellies and the painted lady which are down the street from wescott.

hope this helps!

Sat mornings on Park Ave there is a green market. Not sure if it runs summers but is there fall/winter/spring.

Another coffee place is Bean and Brew or Brew and Bean. It is on Pensacola near Stadium. Clever idea actually, the brew is not coffee brewing, its beer. Coffee served all day, free wireless internet for 2 hours per purchase, open 24 hours during exams. Beer and music afternoon/evenings.

Campus has multiple [St. Arbucks](http://www.starbucks.com/) for students, faculty and visitors. [Strozier Library](http://www.lib.fsu.edu/) is open either 24-hours or very late; lots of little eclectic spots in town, such as [Kool Beanz Cafe](http://www.koolbeanz-cafe.com/). Many historic sites, lots to self-explore as well, museums, concerts, pretty much you name it.

really good nightlife. tallahassee might look boring during the day…
