Hi! I have been applying to the NIH SIP and my current situation is a bit unusual so I’ll do my best to explain it:
I emailed a ton of PIs back in December, and I got several responses that said that the PIs will check back with me during late Feb/early March. I also got one interview with a PI (which went well, but the PI said that they’re also interviewing other people and will make the decision in March, so it’s not confirmed yet). The PIs that said they will check back with me are in the same research group as the PI that interviewed me, so they all know each other and see each other on a daily basis.
So my question is: should I contact these other PIs to try to get an interview, or should I wait for the original PI to make their decision? Since these PIs speak to each other regularly, I don’t know if I should try to get an interview with the others because it may look disloyal/bad on my part. I know this sounds really trivial and silly, but I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks!
