NIH vs. RSI

How do these two different science programs compare to each other? (I have around 3 years of research background in neuroscience as well.)
I've had friends in both whom enjoyed each a lot.
I'm wondering the differences in terms of:
1.) Research experience.
2.) Weight in terms of admissions.

And for those who determine the prestige of the program, keep in mind that although NIH's rate of acceptance is generally much higher than RSI's, NIH is open to MD students/pre-med students as well. NIH is incredibly difficult to get into unless you're around the area and/or have a connection.

Thanks for the feedback.

Just for reference:
Both programs have a 5% acceptance rate.
RSI - already known as 5%.
NIH - In 2010, 6700 applied while 1200 got positions. Among the 1200, 30 percent were high schoolers. So approximately 360 high schoolers were accepted.
