NITSCHE CHEM 1A-Spring 09

has anyone who has taken nitsche for CHEM 1A know of of how much they lower the ranges to get an A at the end...right now it is an 850/1000 for an A-, how much will it be lowered later?

also, how hard is the third and final midterm (thermodynamics) compared to the first two...in your case, did it increase or decrease your midterm average?

comments greatly appreciated. thanks guys

850/1000? whered you get that statistic? i think people that get A’s in nitsche are about 30-40% , but i could be wrong

were you in the class before?

more like 15% A, 20% B, 40% C, 25% D+F. GPA of lower div science/engineering classes are around 2.3~2.5 at Berkeley.

^
it’s not thattt low i dont think

it’s extremely easy to get an A in that class, especially with all the extra credit. i think it says something if you don’t.

chem 1a fall was killer

i think nietsche is probably the only professor on campus who gives extra credit just for showing up to class lol

dang so lucky.

so should we wait for spring to take nitsche? haha i was planning to take chem 1a in fall with stacy

Same here. I feel like all the bad teachers are in the fall like power for bio 1b and stacy for chem 1a… is stacy really that bad tho ? people seemed to say she was ok.

she was nice… and all…but the tests were just ridiculous. based on crap

Yeah, definitely take Chem 1A Spring, if you can get away with it.

ugh i dunno what to take during the fall then… physics ? ehh arent the spring physics teacher better too -_-

-_-! i feel you calbearth, i was waiting for a better bio 1b teacher in spring and a better math 16a / b teacher too hahaha looks like i just gotta suck it up

thanks LH: whoa…an 890 is an A-?? man,i thought anything above 870 would be considered a solid A…out of curiosity, if you dont mind sharing what was your average of the three midterms so that you managed to pull off an A-?

hmm gg nitsche >stacy
