NJ Governor's School

Is the petition online? I can get people here to sign it.

It's not online, but I'm sure we could do something to get it online.

Here is one that addresses education in general, though it doesn't mention Gov School. I don't have time to write my own right now. Too much to do/think about. :

I need new plans for the summer.

who the hell cuts education?

If you attend a California public school, you'd understand what it's like.

Sorry to hear about your loss of the Governor School Program. That must've disappointed all of you.

I wouldn't have minded AS much if they'd told us before. But we put all that work into our apps and we've made it this far in the application process... and now it's too late to apply to a bunch of other selective programs that we could've considered.

Mass pwnage... this would give even FPS Doug a run for his money.

...

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I think it sucks majorly. I hope nobody betted only on this program. Um make sure you are allowed to petition/w/e this. I know that the kids at Enloe who wanted to petition can't do it because it's illegal(they signed an agreement at the beginning of the year).

Call. Say you want to talk about governor's school.

They tally how many callers they get and relay the messages to the governor.

I also called the people at governor's school, and they too had no prior knowledge of its canceling.

Hey Guys, Don't lose hope yet... I'm a finalist for GSPI and I have heard that there is already enough private funding to pay for it, the legislature just has to make it legal. Keep your fingers crossed they can get it together!

I'm from Warren County. Who else is?

Middlesex .

I'm very angry about this funding matter. It's absolutely ludicrous, and I think it's so professional of them not even to send us a letter explaining the situation (sarcasm, of course).

Bergen county

We have to write a satire in AP Lang. I'm writing it about Corzine's budget. I recently found out that all the other Gov School finalists are writing about it too. Haha. There are like 10 of us. Our teacher's going to be so confused.

hahah thats a great idea! you should send it in to your newspaper

Haha I should!!!! I have connections to my school's paper, too, so I can get a huge article in there. And I've worked with the local paper as well, so that shouldn't be a problem. Though they may already be covering it... I can submit it as a letter to the editor.

=D

I also feel like writing a strongly-worded letter in regards to this matter.

i thought mcgreevy was the only wacko, but not supporting education is pretty hilarious.

I wrote a sarcastic "Ode to Corzine," and it was hilarious...well, at least I thought it was. What ****es me off, as was stated earlier, is the reluctance to secure the available private funding.

Supposedly, all of us finalists were supposed to receive our letters on April 10th, but it is the 12th and nothing has shown up in my mail box. How about any of you? I am getting very impatient. I have called the office EVERY DAY for the past week, and they have not (a) answered the phone; or (b) returned my messages.

It looks like the Governor's School committee is as disorganized as the state legislature is coward to accept others' money.

Someone said they called the director and she said they're waiting for the final word from the state before sending out the letters. Something like that.
