[NJ] Rutgers (Newark) University vs. Ramapo College

Hi.

I'm having a seriously difficult time deciding between Rutgers and Ramapo.

The way I see it is, Small classes with less opportunities/events or larger classes with more opportunities/events.

I'm planning (hopefully) on going into pre-med/biology and I would think Rutgers would be the better choice, however it's a tough field of study and smaller classes sizes would be a plus.

I don't know, I'm just at a dead lock right about now.

I believe Rutgers has a 7 year medical program? Then again Ramapo has some Internship opportunities at hospitals and such.

Decisions, decisions...

Any advice, suggestions, or any other relevant info to help me.

Thank you in advance for any and all help/contributions

I was in the same situation as you in december :stuck_out_tongue:
I’ll be attending Rutgers-newark this fall so I won’t be able to comment on how the classes are but if I was you, i’d stick with rutgers. Smaller classes means more individualized attention, better relations with teachers/professors-good for recommendations, etc.
As for the 7 yr program at rutgers…if your talking about the bs/md program that’s EXTREMELY difficult to get into. Pretty much impossible. If you have a really high SAT score, great GPA and ec’s along with good rec’s then you might get in. Those programs are extremely competitive to get into. But I heard there/s a program which you could transfer into after studying for like 2 yrs in college. Anyway…go with whatever you choose to. If you applied for the fall 2011 session I suggest you decide fast…you have to respond to the university by midnight tonight!
