<p>Hey guys! I made a facebook group so that we can all get to know each other a little bit before the program starts. Search for “NJ Scholars 2011” and request to join! Also, if you know of any other people that were accepted into the program but aren’t a part of the college confidential threads, tell them about the group.</p>
<p>does anyone have any advice for the essays? do the readers focus more on formality or creativity?</p>
<p>lol, this is quite late but this could be helpful for any future applicants. for the essay, think of the “formality” or “structure” as a vehicle to showcase your creativity. A well-structured essay is definitely easier and more pleasurable to read than a haphazardly put-together essay. </p>
<p>Creativity doesn’t have to be “creative” or about you doing something “epic”… it’s more like you writing about a topic that you have a strong reaction to and being able to eloquently describe and its impact.</p>
