I haven´t been able to find any discussion on the NJ Scholar Program for this year, so I am starting one. I recently received my semifinalist letter, so I was wondering if anyone has any tips for the interview? I looked at the discussions for the previous years, but only a few posts actually mentioned the specific topic they were given during their interview. For any alumni out there, what were some of the interview topics?
I just received my letter too - from what I understand it’s a group interview where they throw topics around for the students to answer amongst themselves
I am on their Board and will be part of the interview process. The topics vary from group to group. Sometimes we toss out something philosophical (eg If you were Predident, which law would you want to pass first and why?), sometime we are topical (eg How do we best address healthcare needs in the US.) You can’t really prepare. Just be an active, courteous participant.
