so basically I will be majoring in Accounting. I will be getting a full tuition waiver at NJIT but for Rutgers Newark I have to pay? My mom thinks Rutgers has a better name and I can get a better job if I graduate from Rutgers business school. So should I just go to NJIT for the scholarship?
I think Rutgers Newark b/c it has ties with Rutgers. Also NJIT has a high male population so if you are male and female you might want some diversity.

Run the numbers with your mom and whoever else is helping you pay for college. What you save by accepting the full tuition waiver might make a big difference.
If you are concerned about where accountants from Rutgers and NJIT get jobs after graduation, contact the career centers at each campus and ask them. My guess would be that there isn’t any difference.
I’d say Rutgers Newark for business. Their business. RBS is joint between Rutgers New Brunswick & Rutgers Newark. Business is one of Rutgers Newark’s best fields.
NJIT’s Business School offers the degrees & accreditation, nothing special. Plus it’s much easier to get into NJIT’s Business School than NJIT’s Comp Sci & Other majors, so I think that Business at NJIT isn’t as strong as their STEM Majors. Plus they’re more selective than they need to be.
Rutgers Newark for Business,Law,Health, & Humanities
NJIT for Stem & Architecture
Than again NJIT is full tuition so that evens they playing field…
In that case I’d say that NJIT is the better value. Although RU-N is better when it comes to business I don’t think it’s worth paying $17K over NJIT for it.
Just to give you an example of the costs.
NJIT-Only paying for room/board
RU-N-My net cost came to $17K
NJIT & RU-N interact heavily & you can take classes at RU-N so you wouldn’t be missing much by going to NJIT.
If you got full tuition from NJIT so it seems like you are good enough to get into Rutgers New Brunswick or TCNJ those are better for business & in general.
As always, very helpful @ASJackson923 Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
