I have been accepted to NJIT (NJ Institute of Tech.) and RIT (Rochester Institute of Tech.) for computer engineering. I have also been accepted to University of Maryland, but not the engineering program and I have been deferred by WPI ( Worcester Polytech.) and waitlisted by RPI (Rennselaer Polytech.) so I have kind of lost hope with these three schools. I am also waiting to hear back from Stevens, Umass Amherst, and Northeastern. But as of right now it looks as if I will be attending either NJIT or RIT unless something big changes or happens. So what is your opinions on these schools? I would like to attend grad school upon graduation which makes NJIT a very enticing option because I received a generous scholarship and could pay for my undergrad out of pocket without taking out loans, then apply to different grad schools and hope for the best. On the other hand, at RIT, I could go for my undergrad, get co-op experience and, if all goes well, get into their BS/MS program and have a bachelors and masters degree upon graduation. As of now, I have no information about any scholarship from RIT, but I would have to take out loans. So if anyone has any input on RIT's computer engineering program or their BS/MS program that would be great. The same goes for NJIT and their computer engineering program, or if anyone has gone from NJIT to a grad school and how NJIT helped them get there.
Thanks in advance

What is the price difference at this point? How much loans are you talking about? Also how much will doing coop offset RIT price?

Are you instate for Maryland? What does it take to get into Engineering once you start, is it limited or do you just need to meet certain requirements?

Brown Parent: I am instate for NJIT and got a scholarship, so it is very low price. But as of now I don’t know if I got a scholarship from RIT, so I would pay full price for RIT, as of now. As for Maryland, there are classes that I would have to take and get certain grades in those classes to be eligible to transfer into the engineering program.

RIT Grad here again: If RIT is giving you no money i wouldnt go there. its a private institution and somewhere between 45-50k a year. Are you male or female? if you are a female they are def going to give you a good deal of money ESP for a tech degree.
