I got accepted to Montclair. I’ll probably go there if I don’t get accepted to NJIT.
Although does anyone have any info on transferring from Rutgers Newark to Rutgers New Brunswick?

It’s funny that you guys said Montclair because pretty much everyone I know in NJ UNANIMOUSLY said Rutgers Newark.
It’s a better fit for me, here’s why I chose it over Montclair:
The Comp Sci is a Cross-Program with NJIT: You take your Senior Level & more advanced courses at NJIT. You can also take other classes there using a school code.
Tbh I did further research on Montclair’s CS program & majority said it wasn’t all that great. Even MSU people said it was average. Plus they barely even mention CS in general.
Transfer Opportunities: Due to RU-N’s interactions, it would be easier to transfer to RU or NJIT(I can also dual enroll at NJIT).
Rutgers. Definently not as good as New Brunswick but at least it’s still Rutgers
Diversity: The diversity of RU-N students is GREAT.
Price: RU-N is $17K for me(They gave me a little grant), while MSU is $20K(They only gave me 2 loans). Plus the enrollment deposit was much cheaper.
Tbh MSU was a safety for me. I just felt overall inconsistent about committing to Montclair, even though the area is definitently nicer, I prefer Rutgers Newark in almost every other way.
I know people who are going to both schools.

Montclair was 20k? That seems so expensive for an in-state school! New Jersey…
Congrats!! Way to make a decision just before the deadline. From your rationale, it sounds like you’ve made the right decision for yourself. You’ll do well!! And if you end up transferring, Rutgers NB or NJIT wouldn’t be so bad either. You clearly put a lot of thought into it. Congrats again!!
