Just saw over 750 NMF will be attending next year. That’s amazing!

Where did you see that number? That may be how many applied and have been accepted? Many students haven’t yet decided.
What is the breakdown of their pkg? If I remember correctly, the award doesn’t cover everything.
From the mailer and email from the school:
"For the first time in history, the University of Oklahoma ranks first in the nation among both public and private universities in the enrollment of freshman National Merit Scholars!
We hope you decide to join our over 750 National Merit Scholars already enrolled at OU. The Sooner family won’t be complete without you, xxxxx!"
That’s the total number on campus, not the number enrolling.
Here’s a link explaining the cost:

I’ll have to say they do an excellent job with their recruitment efforts.
Thanks @bamagirls!
I just glanced at the email, makes sense, yes, that number seemed high.

The freshman class has 313 NMFs. Given that there are four classes, and a number of NMFs choose to take a fifth year, 750 NMFs currently enrolled does not seem excessive at all.
Thank you for the update BamaGirls. It didn’t make sense that there would be that many frosh NMFs enrolling this fall.
And they won’t really join the “750 currently enrolled” because some of those will graduate. Marketing playing loose with the English language…
And yes they do a very good job with recruiting (not that Alabama is in any way deficient in that regard!). Speaking from personal experience as my son will be one of those incoming freshmen at OU this fall.
