<p>When and how can we find out the brand and model of computer that NMFs will be given the day before class?</p>
<p>We are hoping to get son a docking station, and will probably have to mail order it, so the sooner we find out the make and model, the sooner we can set it up.</p>

<p>They will mail you all of that info, but it changes every year.</p>
<p>I would wait to find out if your son really needs a docking station.</p>
<p>But, if you really want to know now, email Dr. Sharpe and ask. I’m pretty sure that he’s involved with the ordering and they’ve already been ordered (I think).</p>
<p>I can tell you that the laptops do not need a docking station and are more than capable of doing anything you would want. I’m actually on one right now and love it.</p>
<p>My sons love their larger monitors we got them instead of docking stations. You do not really need one. They do like the 23 inch HDtvs that can be used as a tv or monitor in their rooms.</p>
<p>The guys are taking care of the techie stuff, but I think the idea is to have someplace to back up data periodically in case of a damage/loss or computer crash.</p>

<p>A portable external hard drive is not a bad idea. As others have already said, a docking station in not needed. If you are going to invest in anything, I highly recommend purchasing a TV/monitor for the bedroom.<br>
My son purchased his online and had it shipped to Paty Hall, Package Delivery Service. He picked it up on move in day. </p>

<li>I suggest you keep your original boxes (including the styrofoam) for your printers and TV/monitors. My son kept his boxes in the hallway storage locker both years. He has been able to securely repackage his electronics and store them in a rental storage unit until he returns to Tuscaloosa.</li>

<p>In the newer dorms for every quad (or grouping) there is a storage closet located in the hall, the room key will open the door.</p>
<p>The closet is quite roomy. For those item you don’t use daily or boxes to electronics…</p>
<p>Also the new dorms have interior bike storage rooms which I find very clever…In Ds dorm last year it was located near the elevator & trash room!</p>

<p>In the case of those dorms, how many people share one storage room, just four, or a whole floor or a number of suites?</p>
<p>My son was in Riverside North and East his first two years. Both had Storage units that are shared with only the residents in their suite.</p>
<p>Each suite has a storage closet just outside its door. It’s a good size, so lots of boxes, luggage, etc. can fit.</p>
