NMF Presidential Scholarship First Choice Notification Deadline?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I am a national merit finalist and I did not elect to choose a first choice school because I was undecided as to where I was going when I was selected as a semifinalist.</p>

<p>However, now that I am likely going to USC, I want to take advantage of USC's half-tuition presidential scholarship. I thought I would be fine waiting until the National Merit Scholarship Corporation's May deadline, but USC's Financial Website lists the "Notification Date" of the Presidential Scholarship as "by April 1st." It seems that all scholarships have this "notification date" though, so I'm interpreting it as perhaps being just the date when USC can start to notify students that they have received the scholarship, and not the date I have to report USC as my first choice school. </p>

<p>If I report USC to National Merit now as my first choice, can I still get the Presidential Scholarship, or am I screwed? =/</p>

<p>If you report USC as your first to National Merit now, you will not be “screwed,” you will be a “USC NMF Presidential Scholar.”</p>
