Has anyone recently received the official letter describing the details of NMF half tuition scholarship? I noticed that other scholarship letters for those interviewed are going out. When should we hear officially about this letter?

My daughter received this letter in early Feb.

My daughter hasn't received the NMF letter. She received her acceptance package last week.

It takes at least a week( I think), from the time one receives the acceptance package.

sorry to diverge, but about national merit... if you get a deans/presidential could you still qualify for the nmf scholarship? or do they just add a few extra thousand to your package? or does nothing happen and you waste your time?

you can still qualify, but you get only one.. the higher one (presidential NMF obviously)

you can't get both. haha

I just want to be sure about something:
I haven't listed USC as my first choice college yet because I'm waiting until I actually know where I'm going. I will automatically receive half tuition if I designate USC as my first choice after I choose to matriculate (if I do choose to do that), right?

^yes.

NMF scholarship is the same as Presidential scholarship without the interview. It's called the Zero Stress scholarship. :D

Not 100% sure if the +$1000 is for both NMF or Presidential but from what I read( I hope my memory has not failed me) I think both NMF and Presidential get +$1000. Someone, please correct me if this is not right.

This was the case in the past-
For National Merit Finalists, those who do not receive an additional scholarship from National Merit ( the $2,500 ones or a corporate one) will get an additional $1,000 per year from USC on top of the Presidential Scholarship.

man. i wish i was in USC already.. it's like 20k in scholarships alone.
