Does anyone know if most of these offer similar cash to NAF?
There is no good list for NAF/NASF. Just going to some of these to list and when it comes time to apply call around to see.

Of the ones D applied to, Northeastern and Cincinnati specifically say they are for National Achievement Finalists as well. Cincinnati is not for in-state only as listed, but they don’t waive OOS tuition, just give an extra $3,000 per year to help offset. Some others I think you’ll have to call. They may say NMF on site but possibly also include NAF Nebraska’s is worded in a way that sounds like they might include NAF.

A lot of the schools I’ve looked at do include NAF but you’re going to have to do your homework here – click on the links for the schools that you’re interested in and see if you can find any mention of NAF or, as celesteroberts says, call them.

The award cited for Cincinnati (Full Tuition plus room) is in-state only.

The OOS award when totaled up does exceed the 1/2 tuition threshold however, so I suppose I should separately list it in section 2.

It would be a worthwhile project for someone to maintain a similar list for NAF (and NHS, for that matter).

Sorry BobWallace. I always thought ‘in-state only’ meant only in-state were eligible to receive the money, since some schools are like that. I get what it means now. Yeah, I was also thinking today someone should run a list like yours for NAF or NHS. They could start with your list and check all those schools, get people on those forums to volunteer to check a few each. Have to say this list has been the best resource EVER for our family and I can’t thank you enough for maintaining it.

Hi, Just want to thank everyone who regularly posts on here. I have been reading this site since we were notifed about NMS status and are waiting daily and hoping not to see a letter.
Just wanted to mention that the University of South Florida has dramatically changed its NMF offer from full ride to $3000 a year plus housing priority. This is a major disappointment for my son who is out of state and a big Tampa Bucs football fan.

Sorry about the tardy response, I am only occassionally on this site (our #2 is a HS junior). Miami spells out the GPA needed for the best NMF award, based on your grades at time of acceptance (through fall semester of senior year, you cannot rely on an uptick from the spring grades). So, you may find more generous awards elsewhere, it really comes down to the best overall opportunity. We decided Miami’s business school was worth the extra tuition costs to us. (BTW Ohio State imposes a class rank target on their NMF offer: their undergraduage business school may not get ranked as highly by USNews, etc., but their MBA program is highly regarded, and if you are considering business or STEM OSU is a great value.

On that link for UCF - the $36K per year is for OOS; in-state is about half that - still great…

thanks for the info patrickd. We’re trying to get a handle on Miami for electrical & computer engineering. We are OOS but the merit aid is generous enough for us to look closely. Better than from Case at this point.

Miami U is not really known for engineering - there are many better engineering schools in this thread to consider.

Bob, where do you suggest for engineering?

I would put all of these schools appearing in this thread well ahead of Miami U for engineering. (I put them into 3 tiers, just my opinions.)
