NMS cutoff predictions for class of 2018

I copied and pasted the reply from the GC

Hello,

We should get the scores in September.

warm regards,
xxxx xxxxxx

Gee thanks alot!

Bulk mail is a little cheaper but can’t possibly save very much. The College Board really should re-think this entire timeline.

@Kayak24 - yes, they did.

Homeschool parent here. Nothing in Colorado yet.

Thanks @ColoSky . Your mail already delivered today? Can we ask what SI you are sitting on?

Mail was already delivered. SI= 221

@3scoutsmom

GC said to wait another month :frowning: :-SS

Mail just came, nothing yet here in South Florida :(. We are homeschooled with a 219. Will keep everyone updated.

@RMNiMiTz and @3scoutsmom We need a “Booooo” button! :-q

@ShrimpBurrito , my sentiments exactly. Boooooo (:expressionless: But sorry, GCs, we have our trusty friends on CC and Compass to crowdsource way before then. :smiley:

GC confirmed for me nothing received in today’s mail. 219 KY. Keeping the faith for early next week.

Looks like I lost the bet on someone breaking the ice today.

Ok, definitely adding to the damper of things - GC got back to me and said that last year the nmsf were notified on Sept. 21st and that she imagines that the release of the info. is around the same time (but we know she is wrong!). Also, staff members at our school were not privy to the information before the students were informed. This is a wonderful and helpful counselor. I do believe if she could let me know anything, she would. This is unfortunately how our PA high school releases the info. Wa, wa, waaaaaa (game show loser sound)

@Winky1, this is not really surprising. It’s why we will rely on the Home Schoolers so much, and then the rare Principal/GC willing to share.

It’s like getting a mortgage/buying a house. Toy you, the buyer, this is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing happening. Nothing else matters! To the mortgage broker, it’s part of their job, and they balance it with priorities, other customers, as well as guidance from above.

That probably doesn’t help or ease the anxiety!

@Winky1, at least you know that after the national press release date (which was definitely not Sept 21 last year) you will be able to call NMSC yourself to get the info if your GC still has not provided it. It’s very likely you’ll know about your own student’s status and likely about your state cutoff well before the press release, and you may even have the essay prompt if a kindhearted early info person shares it. Sorry though, it sounds as if you’re stuck with a school that delays sharing NMSF data for several weeks after the GC receives it.

Compass thinks they may have cutoffs by the end of next week:

Good luck to everyone waiting.

I think you’re good! This Iowa Mom is on the ledge…my son has a SI of 215. We are both fully expecting he’ll miss it by one.

My S is sitting on a 221 in VA, which is on last year’s cutoff and a point lower than Art’s prediction for this year. I teach at my son’s high school, so the principal has promised to let me know as soon as she hears anything. However, my S is the only one with a high enough SSI to come close to qualifying, so if 221 doesn’t make the cut I won’t hear anything official until the Commended letters come out. Praying hard

If I do hear, I will post quickly! My principal will likely tell me as soon as she receives the letter.

New to this site, but appreciate all the helpful info. Our D has SI of 225 in TX but we can’t relax till we have an official word. I work at her high school so hope to have inside info soon. She visited Bama this summer for nursing & was super impressed. Of course, we could only afford to send her there with NMF $… so we continue to wait.

@APedison, your D is a complete lock with a 225. Congratulations to her!
