MISSOURI - YEAH!! My son qualified with a 219. I went up to school to drop off a mouthguard for my other son, and thought to ask if the mail came in. At this point I was practically hyperventilating and nearly in tears when the secretary took the envelope to the principal to open, which he did right in front of me.
I had forgotten how these last few days make me want to become a drinker.
I am settling for nervously pecking at sunflower seeds.
Nice @collegework !
219 represents the TOP of Art’s range for MO. This one data point does not help us much, but it is something!
What a story @collegework! Wow! Congrats!
Note that @collegework score of 219 in MO was at the high end of the CompassPrep’s estimated range of 215-219 (last year was 216 and Art had this year at 217). So, there was no more than a 2 point jump in MO.
Thank you. Well, @DavidPuddy I was partly posting here because I am THRILLED to pieces and figured this is one of of the few places where I can announce it and others might share in my excitement. I also realized it was at the top of Art’s range, but I still didn’t feel 100% confident and was SO DANG NERVOUS all morning! So I thought maybe there was someone else out there with a 219 or above that my information might help. It’s not like it was a 225 or something where there was absolutely no question about qualifying in MO. Also, I wanted people to know that the mail had arrived in MO. (Near KC). Good luck to you!
@HeliMom74 - it’s 5 pm somewhere. Bombs away!
@collegework , Your story was SO exciting!! Thank you for sharing and Congratulations!!
Mail in Missouri is making it from Illinois. Woohoo! Who will be next?? At this point I love seeing ANY posts confirming scores but it’s especially exciting with recaps like yours, collegework.
For the record, I hope everyone posts - even if their score was high. You never know who it might help and, besides, we like to share in the excitement!
@collegework you did right to post. It’s very helpful!
oh oh oh @collegework !
I hope you did not infer that I meant your info was not valuable. Exactly the opposite! All information is valuable, we just want more of it, not less!
Again, both congrats and THANKS!
I’m a semifinalist! 219 in Florida
@collegework since you saw the principle open it, did you happen to see a booklet in the envelope?
Sad news for us in VA. My principal got a letter stating we had no semifinalists, so VA is >221. Oh, well…
@“teacher&mama” I’m sorry! Thanks so much for posting, anyway.
I just broke down and emailed my boy’s guidance counselor and asked if the NMSC envelope had arrived. “I have no shame”, I wrote. I added a big smiling-face emoji, so maybe that will get me in the door, eh? Considering bringing Sonic drinks to the Counseling staff, too. Flies/honey and whatnot.
IF YOU ARE MY SON’S COUNSELOR AND YOU ARE READING THIS PLZ KNOW I DO NOT CONSIDER YOU A FLY AND DO NOT LET THIS AFFECT YOUR DECISION TO RELEASE INFO TO ME.
You guys. I think I am losing it.
Scores by those who did not make it are very helpful (though disappointing for that student). Helps establish the cutoff as much as scores that make it.
@teacher&mama, what a heartbreak with such a high score. Thank you for sharing and you should be really proud regardless.
^^I agree.
@saillakeerie - Bingo, esp. as commended letters don’t go out till mid-next month at the earliest. The only way to determine the cut-off with precision is to hear from some who didn’t make it.
I am sorry @teacher&mama - thank you for the info. Continue on your great college journey! Best of luck!
