<p>I got a college sponsored scholarship for NMF. I just found the letter today, and the reply deadline is May 6th, the day after tomorrow. If I mail it, the reply will probably not arrive at NMSC offices in time. The other option is to fax it; however, I do not have a fax machine/never have used a fax machine. Will NMSC consider my reply late if I take it to the post office to get it postmarked?</p>
<p>burgerbread…If you’re worried about faxing it, take it to the nearest Staples/OfficeMax/Office Depot and they’ll fax it for you. That way you shouldn’t have to worry about the deadline.</p>
<p>Isn’t the reply deadline just to be in the upcoming press release? The way I read d’s letter, it said that this is to make the press release deadline, but you would still be receiving the scholarship even if they get it later, and your name would be on the final national press release. (And by the way, kiddo did choose to fax hers, then followed up with a phone call the next day to make sure they got it.) Congrations, burgerbread!</p>
<p>Ask your school if they will fax it for you. Call NMSC and tell them also.</p>
<p>Don’t worry about it. I actually called NMSC about this very same thing yesterday. The deadline is basically meaningless, the guy said. It was put on there so they could get replies back as quickly as possible, and preferably in time for the next press release deadline. He told me that as long as my son gets it in the mail any time this week, he should be just fine.</p>
