Hi, I got a 218 on my PSAT and a 2240 on my SAT, so I think I'm gonna be a Semi-finalist (I live in IL). But I heard that I need to send a letter to NMSQT otherwise I'm not gonna be a SF. Is this true? What do I write in the letter?

You’re not a citizen. Are you in the process of becoming a US citizen?

That gives you the info you need about a letter to NMSQT.

No, I am still on a visa. I have however applied for US permanent residency. Thanks for the link. I wonder if there’s a template for the letter out somewhere.

• If the student has applied for U.S. lawful permanent residence, a copy of Form I-797
Receipt Notice from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) that
verifies that the student filed the “Application to Register Permanent Residence
or Adjust Status” (Form I-485). Note: Form I-797 Receipt Notice must be received
on or before January 31 of the program year.

Call up NMSC, they are very helpful
