Gap year was a great thing for my D and made the process far more manageable. See my D’s (extremely lengthy) story in the Final Decisions thread. Only down side was a couple of schools had to come off the list because the freshman merit scholarships required you to enroll within a year of HS graduation; but there are plenty of other schools out there.
For anyone who has no acceptances or anyone else who may be interested, Atlantic Acting Conservatory in NYC is having Open Auditions this weekend. It’s one of the 5 big conservatories in NYC. https://mailchi.mp/atlantictheater/theadventurestartsnownyny-237817?e=21f53f470a
Additional info: “The Atlantic Theater Company was founded in 1983 by the playwright David Mamet and the actor William H. Macy.” (NYU Tisch has a studio that is affiliated with the Atlantic Theatre Company.)
We are looking at WKU - it’s not too far from home and I love she gets a year of training before having to audition.
The merit money looks good to so that’s a plus. Would love to hear more of your experiences. Thanks!
