I just submitted my application using Embark, and though my short answers were under the character limit, when I looked at the Preview (after I submitted my app), I saw that last few words of two of them were cut off (I also made a small typo). I went to check the NYU site for an admissions email so I could inform them of this and ask if there was anything I could do... but they don't have an email address...

So, I guess I have to wait until after January 4th and call them?

Yeah, some schools don’t have emails. I think you may have to call them.

I don’t think there really is anything that they can help you with though… I think you just gotta cut some parts to make it fit. That’s what I had to do for one of my colleges.

I get that and all, but if the form has a character limit, I expect that I use all of those characters. The app does say that you can add whatever you don’t fit to the additional information section, so I don’t think that they will mind. I mean, it’s not like I was way over the limit… only a couple of words got cut off, but the ending sentences don’t make sense without those words :P

Take out the spaces between paragraphs? I found out they use up 2 characters. I was so mad lol. I had to take out all the spaces between paragraphs to make my essay fit

My essay fit fine, it was the short answers which were only 1 paragraph. Anyway, it’s too late now to edit them. I guess I’ll call them when they are back

The admissions e-mail address is on the website, but since the University is closed until the 4th, I’m pretty sure no one is around to answer e-mails anyway.

@missamericanpie: Where is the email address? I have not been able to find it.

Hm, I thought it was on there, but I may be mixing up Steinhardt with regular admissions. Oops.

Try the admissions forum, but it seems to be closed until the 4th. :-(

[NYU > Undergraduate Admissions > Contact Us](<a href=“Undergraduate Admissions”>Undergraduate Admissions)

They have a forum for these questions. YOu need an account, and it usually takes 1-3 business days to get an answer. But they’re pretty good, and link you to a different office/site if need be. Again though, they’re closed until Jan 4.

Go to nyu.edu. Then Admissions. Undergrad admissions. Then look at the bar at the top for Forums. There is a wealth of information / FAQs there. But you can also ask questions and they respond to every little thing.

Luck to ya.
